Courier to Venezuela: How to Choose a Reliable Shipping Company

There are many courier options for shipping to Venezuela, and when you’re sending something to your family, your business or yourself, you don’t want surprises: unexplained delays, charges you didn’t expect or a box nobody can locate. Choosing the right company is the best way to avoid that. This guide gives you 8 questions worth asking any company before trusting it with your cargo, and tells you how we answer them at Next Day Cargo.

Courier or cargo: what do you need?

People say “courier” for almost any shipment, but not everything moves the same way. An envelope or a small box with something urgent usually goes by air; a move, appliances, furniture or commercial cargo usually go by ocean. A good company should offer you both options and help you choose based on the size, weight and urgency of your shipment.

At Next Day Cargo we ship boxes, online purchases, household moves, vehicles and commercial cargo to Venezuela, by air or by sea, with door-to-door delivery.

8 questions for choosing your courier to Venezuela

1. How much experience does it have with Venezuela?

Experience shows when something gets complicated: paperwork, customs or last-minute changes. Ask how long the company has been shipping to Venezuela.

At Next Day Cargo: the company was founded in Miami in 1992 with a clear purpose: to offer reliable cargo handling from the United States to Venezuela. We have 35 years of experience.

2. Does it have a real warehouse in Miami?

A physical address to receive your boxes and online purchases gives you peace of mind and lets you drop off your merchandise in person.

At Next Day Cargo: our warehouse is at 8805 NW 35th Lane, Miami, FL 33172. When your package arrives, our system notifies you with an automatic email.

3. What days do shipments leave and how long do they take?

Be wary of vague promises. What you need to know is what day your shipment leaves and how long it takes to arrive, by each method.

At Next Day Cargo: air cargo leaves Miami on Fridays and takes 3 to 4 business days; ocean cargo also leaves on Fridays and takes 2 to 4 weeks. Your merchandise must be at the warehouse at least one day before departure. Times can vary depending on the customs situation; contact us for the current delivery time.

4. How far does it deliver in Venezuela?

Leaving cargo at an office isn’t the same as taking it to the door. Ask exactly where it’s delivered and whether there are extra costs depending on the city.

At Next Day Cargo: we deliver door to door in the Caracas Metropolitan Area. For the interior we coordinate delivery with a domestic transport company; that leg has an additional cost, paid to that company. Read more on our door-to-door shipping to Venezuela page.

5. Are the rates clear?

A serious company explains how it calculates the price and which services are charged separately, before you pay.

At Next Day Cargo: air is charged by the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight; ocean, by cubic feet. US pickup and repackaging are optional and cost extra. Check the current rates for shipping to Venezuela, because they change often.

6. How can I pay?

For many families, being able to pay from Venezuela makes all the difference.

At Next Day Cargo: shipments are prepaid and you can pay in US dollars, in bolívares or a combination of both, by credit or debit card, deposit or bank transfer. Since the bolívar exchange rate changes daily, if you don’t pay on the day of the quote, ask for an updated rate.

7. Can I track my shipment?

Knowing where your box is saves you the stress of waiting blindly.

At Next Day Cargo: each package enters the system with its own tracking number, and you can follow it with our package tracking from Miami to its destination.

8. Does it offer insurance?

Ask whether there’s insurance and what its terms are before you ship, not after.

At Next Day Cargo: we offer insurance for merchandise shipped from Miami to Venezuela. Its terms depend on whether the service is door to door, so ask us for details when you request your quote.

How to Pack Boxes for Shipping to Venezuela from Miami

If you’re shipping boxes to Venezuela from Miami, packing matters as much as choosing the shipping company. A well-packed box protects what you send during the trip by air or by sea and can also help you pay less, because the size of the box affects the cost. At Next Day Cargo we’ve spent 35 years receiving boxes at our Miami warehouse and taking them to Venezuela, and these are the tips we give our customers most often.

Why packing matters (for your wallet too)

Your box will pass through several hands and legs of the trip: from your home or the store to our warehouse, from Miami to Venezuela, and from there to the destination door. Good packing reduces the risk of bumps and breakage.

But there’s another reason: when shipping to Venezuela, space counts.

  • By air you’re charged the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is calculated like this: length × width × height (in inches) ÷ 139.
  • By ocean you’re charged by volume, in cubic feet: length × width × height (in inches) ÷ 1728.

With both methods, a box bigger than needed means paying for air. To see what your box would cost, check the current rates for shipping to Venezuela and confirm them before booking.

Choose the right box

  • Sturdy and in good condition: a firm cardboard box, dry, without crushed corners or tears. If you’re reusing a box, make sure it’s still rigid.
  • The right size: what you put in should fit snugly, with room only for padding. A huge half-empty box gets crushed and, by air, is charged by its volume.
  • For heavy items, small boxes: spread heavy objects across several manageable boxes instead of filling one big box.
  • For very delicate items: consider a wooden crate. If you don’t have one, our warehouse offers repackaging in wooden crates for delicate items, at an additional cost.

How to pack your box, step by step

1. Get your materials ready

You’ll need the box, wide packing tape, padding (paper, bubble wrap or foam), plastic bags and a marker.

2. Heavy on the bottom, light on top

Put the heaviest, sturdiest items at the bottom and the lighter ones on top. That way the box keeps its shape and what’s underneath doesn’t get crushed.

3. Protect each fragile item separately

Wrap glasses, plates, ornaments or electronics one by one. Ideally, no fragile item should touch the walls of the box or another fragile item.

4. Fill the empty spaces

If you hear something shift when you move the box, it needs more padding. Fill the gaps so nothing moves, but don’t force the box: it shouldn’t bulge.

5. Seal anything that could spill

If your box contains anything that could spill, make sure it is tightly closed and put it inside sealed plastic bags so it doesn’t damage the rest of the contents.

6. Seal the box in an “H” pattern

Run tape along the center seam of the flaps and along both side edges, top and bottom. It’s the most secure way to close a cardboard box.

Label your box correctly

If you send your box to our warehouse by UPS, FedEx or USPS, or if you shop online, use this address: 8805 NW 35th Lane, Miami, FL 33172, with the name of the person receiving in Venezuela, not to the attention of our staff. First, register that person for free in our Customer Registration.

More labeling tips:

  • Remove or cross out old labels and barcodes from previous shipments if you’re reusing the box.
  • Put a list of the contents inside the box, in case the outside label gets damaged.
  • Keep the invoice or receipt handy: we need a copy to process the shipment.

Measure and weigh before requesting your quote

To quote, we need the dimensions in inches, the weight in pounds, and the description and value of the merchandise. Measure the length, width and height of the box once it’s closed.

An example: an 18 × 18 × 18 inch box takes up 5,832 cubic inches. By air, its volumetric weight is about 42 pounds (5,832 ÷ 139); if it weighs 25 pounds on the scale, you’re charged for 42. By ocean, it’s 3.375 cubic feet (5,832 ÷ 1728), regardless of weight. If the same contents fit in a smaller box, you save.

When it makes sense for us to repack

If you shop at several stores, each package arrives at our warehouse separately, with its own tracking number, and ships separately unless you ask us to combine them. We can hold your packages until they all arrive (you get 2 weeks of free storage in Miami) and repack them into a single cardboard box to reduce the volume. For delicate items we offer wooden crates. Repackaging has an additional cost and is done only with your prior authorization.

This is very useful if you shop on Amazon: when you use our Miami address as the delivery address, you also save 7% in taxes, because the purchase arrives at our Miami warehouse.

Large boxes, appliances and furniture

For bulky or heavy items, such as appliances or furniture, ocean is usually the most convenient option, because it’s charged by volume, not weight. It leaves Miami every Friday and takes 2 to 4 weeks. Air also leaves on Fridays and takes 3 to 4 business days, ideal for small or urgent boxes. To see the whole process, from box to destination, read our guide on how to ship cargo to Venezuela from Miami step by step.

And if you can’t bring your boxes to the warehouse, we pick them up anywhere in the United States, at an additional cost.

Quick checklist before handing over your box

  1. Sturdy box, the right size.
  2. Heavy items on the bottom and fragile items wrapped separately.
  3. No empty spaces and no bulging.
  4. Sealed in an “H”.
  5. Old labels removed and a contents list inside.
  6. Recipient registered and their name on the address.
  7. Dimensions, weight and invoice ready for your quote.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of box should I use to ship to Venezuela?

A firm cardboard box, in good condition and the right size for the contents. For very delicate items a wooden crate is best, and our warehouse can do that repackaging at an additional cost.

Does the box size change the price?

Yes. By air you’re charged the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, and by ocean you’re charged by cubic feet. A smaller box usually costs less.

Can you repack my purchases in Miami?

Yes. We combine your packages into one box or use a wooden crate for delicate items. It has an additional cost and we do it with your prior authorization.

Whose name do I put on the box going to your warehouse?

The name of the person receiving in Venezuela, registered in our Customer Registration, at 8805 NW 35th Lane, Miami, FL 33172.

Where can I see how much it costs to ship my box?

On our shipping to Venezuela page. Rates change often; confirm them before booking.

Door-to-Door Shipping to Venezuela: What’s Included and How It Works

When you look for door-to-door shipping to Venezuela, what you want is simple: drop off your box in Miami and have it arrive at your family’s home without anyone having to go pick it up. At Next Day Cargo we’ve been doing exactly that for 35 years, since the company was founded in Miami in 1992. This guide explains what “door to door” really means, what it includes, what costs extra and how the process works from start to finish.

What does “door to door” mean?

A door-to-door shipment is one where the shipping company takes care of your cargo from the moment it receives it in Miami until it delivers it to the address you gave in Venezuela. The recipient doesn’t have to pick anything up at an office or deal with the port or airport: the package arrives at their door.

At Next Day Cargo, our staff handles your cargo from the moment we receive your request until it’s delivered to its final destination. We prepare the export documentation and coordinate the trip, whether by air or by sea. We don’t offer pickup of merchandise at our offices in Venezuela: the idea is for your shipment to reach the destination address.

What’s included and what costs extra

Before getting a quote, it helps to know what the rate covers and which services are quoted separately. Rates change often, so we recommend checking the current rates for shipping to Venezuela before booking.

Service How it works
Transport from Miami to Venezuela Air or ocean, departing every Friday
Delivery in Caracas Door to door, at the address you give us
Delivery in the interior We coordinate it with a domestic transport company; that leg costs extra
Storage in Miami 2 weeks free
Pickup in the US Available anywhere in the country, at an additional cost
Repackaging or wooden crate Optional, at an additional cost and with your prior authorization
Insurance Depends on whether the service is door to door; ask us for details

How door-to-door shipping works, step by step

1. Register the recipient in Venezuela

Before your merchandise reaches our warehouse, register the person who will receive it, free of charge, in our Customer Registration. That way we can identify your box as soon as it arrives.

2. Get your box to our Miami warehouse

Our warehouse is at 8805 NW 35th Lane, Miami, FL 33172. You can bring your box, send it with UPS, FedEx or USPS, or shop online and use our address as the delivery address. Always use the name of the person receiving in Venezuela, not the name of our staff. If you can’t bring it, we pick it up anywhere in the United States at an additional cost.

3. Get the notification and send your invoice

When the package arrives, our system sends you an automatic email. To process the shipment we need a copy of the invoice or purchase receipt.

4. Choose air or ocean and pay

We send you the quote and you choose the method. Shipments are prepaid, and you can pay in US dollars, in bolívares or a combination of both. Since the exchange rate changes daily, if you don’t pay on the day of the quote, ask for an updated rate.

5. Departure, tracking and delivery

Your cargo leaves Miami on Friday and you can follow it with our package tracking until it reaches the destination door.

Door to door by air or ocean: transit times

Both methods leave Miami every Friday and both include door-to-door delivery. The difference is the time and how it’s charged:

Air Ocean
Departure from Miami Friday Friday
Estimated time 3 to 4 business days 2 to 4 weeks
Charged by The greater of actual weight and volumetric weight Volume, in cubic feet
Best for Urgent items and small boxes Large or heavy boxes, appliances, furniture

To leave on a Friday, your merchandise must be at our warehouse at least one day before. Times are estimates and can vary depending on the customs situation; if you have an important date, ask us for the current delivery time.

Deliveries in Caracas and the interior

In the Caracas Metropolitan Area we deliver door to door at the address you give us. If your shipment is going to the interior of the country, we contact you to coordinate delivery through a domestic transport company or a person with an address in Caracas. The leg from Caracas to the interior has an additional cost, paid to that transport company. If your family lives outside Caracas, tell us the city when you request your quote and we’ll explain how it gets there.

Online purchases delivered to the door

Door-to-door service isn’t only for boxes packed at home. Our Miami address works as your mailbox: you shop on Amazon or other US stores, the store delivers to our warehouse and we take it to Venezuela. When you use our Miami address for your Amazon purchases, you save 7% in taxes, because the purchase is delivered to our Miami warehouse. We explain it in detail in how to buy on Amazon and receive in Venezuela.

If you make several purchases, we can hold them until they all arrive (you get 2 weeks of free storage) and repack them into a single box to reduce the volume. Repackaging has an additional cost and we only do it with your authorization.

Tips for a smooth door-to-door shipment

  • Complete address in Venezuela: include landmarks and a contact phone number for the recipient.
  • Correct name on the box: the registered person receiving in Venezuela.
  • Invoice ready: send us the copy as soon as you get the arrival notification.
  • Plan around Friday: if you want it to leave this week, your box must be at our warehouse by Thursday at the latest.
  • Ask about insurance: its terms depend on the type of service, so ask us for details when you get a quote.

Christmas 2026: How to Plan Your Shipment from Miami So It Arrives on Time

December is the busiest shipping month of the year. If you want your gifts, purchases or packages to arrive before December 24, the key is to plan ahead. This guide gives you the departure days and transit times from our Miami warehouse to Venezuela, Honduras, Panama and Costa Rica, by air and by sea, and explains how to find out this year’s cutoff dates.

The most important rule

Your cargo must be in our Miami warehouse at least one day before departure. If you shop online, also count the days the store takes to deliver to Miami. If your purchase arrives on departure day, it leaves on the next departure.

Departures and transit times

Destination Method Departures Estimated transit
Venezuela Air Friday 3 to 4 business days
Venezuela Ocean Friday 2 to 4 weeks
Honduras Air Tuesday and Friday About 1 week
Honduras Ocean Friday About 3 weeks
Panama Air Twice a week 3 to 4 days
Panama Ocean Weekly 3 to 4 weeks
Costa Rica Air Tuesday and Friday About 1 week
Costa Rica Ocean Friday 2 to 4 weeks

Times can vary with port traffic and customs in each country, which tend to be busier in December.

Christmas cutoff dates: ask us

Christmas cutoff dates for each country change every year. To get the current dates for your destination and shipping method, contact us: call (305) 477-3451, message us on WhatsApp at the same number, or email cotizaciones@nextdaycargo.com. We recommend asking early and, if you can, shipping sooner.

By sea: think November

If you’re shipping appliances, furniture, large toys or bulky purchases by sea, start planning in November, not December. Ocean is the most economical option for bulky items, because it’s charged by cubic feet, but it needs weeks in transit.

By air: don’t leave everything for the last week

Air is the option for last-minute purchases, but it isn’t instant: to Venezuela it takes 3 to 4 business days, and to Honduras and Costa Rica about 1 week. By air you pay the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so during gift season it’s worth asking for repacking so you don’t pay for big, half-empty boxes.

6 tips for Christmas shipping

  1. Register the recipient now in our Customer Registration.
  2. Shop early and use our address: 8805 NW 35th Lane, Miami, FL 33172, in the recipient’s name. On Amazon you save 7% in taxes. More at Amazon.
  3. Combine your purchases: you get 2 weeks of free storage in Miami so everything can arrive and ship together.
  4. Ask for repacking into a single box, at an extra cost, to reduce the volume.
  5. Send the invoice or receipt as soon as your purchase arrives, so your quote isn’t delayed.
  6. Pay on time: shipments are prepaid. You can pay through online payments.

If you’re shipping from outside Miami

We pick up your shipment anywhere in the US, at an extra cost that depends on the city. Book pickup well ahead, because schedules fill up fast in December. If you use your own carrier, add its transit time to Miami.

Delivery at destination

  • Venezuela: door to door in the Caracas Metropolitan Area; to the interior, with a domestic carrier at an extra cost.
  • Honduras: door to door throughout Honduras.
  • Panama: door to door in Panama City; to the interior, with a local courier at an extra cost.
  • Costa Rica: door to door in San José; to other provinces, with a local courier at an extra cost.
